OpenDarwin 7.2.1 Notes
- Gary said:
After installing, you must enter these boot options to get the root partition
mounted: rd=disk0s1 -v
Then edit /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist to
include:
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>rd=disk0s1</string>
The DEC Tulip chipset is supported but appears to fail on bootup. There is also
a long pause while netinfod gets hung on something but you'll eventually get a
login prompt.
- Alex Smith noted:
If it hangs at the initial splash screen, restart the virtual machine. When
you see the "Press a key within 3 seconds to enter startup options" prompt,
press a key and type hd(0,a)mach_kernel rd=disk0s1. This assumes you
installed Darwin on the first partition of the virtual disk
